Uncharted 2 Dated

The PlayStation Portugal site (google translated) has revealed that Uncharted 2: Among Theives may possibly be set for release this September. Now, was this intentional? Possibly, but with the lack of a press release regarding the release date and the sudden appearance of a release date, we have to wonder. Look for this one in, well, September. Just don't bet your hidden treasures on it.

[Update]

The release date has also appeared on the European PlayStation site. Could this be more fact that fiction? We certainly hope so.

Burnout Paradise Breaking News - Cops And Robbers Release Date

Hello Readers,

This week's Breaking News is that the hotly anticipated Cops and Robbers update will be released on Thursday April the 30th.

The latest paid content for Burnout Paradise, Cops and Robbers is rumoured to be the greatest freeburn game mode yet, perfectly complimenting current favourites Marked Man, Road Rage and Stunt Run.

I caught up with the Paradise City Police Chief, and he confirmed the impending arrival of 'significant police reinforcements' to 'crackdown on any illegal activity around Paradise City'.

Stay tuned to this channel to find out the hottest details..

TEKKEN 6 Not Coming To PS3! But Bloodline Rebellion Is!

Namco Bandai held a special press conference yesterday (just a few days before Tokyo Game Show), where they went over new and upcoming titles and other special announcements. One of the announcements was that Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion will be heading to the PLAYSTATION 3 (no word when) and will have MORE content than the arcade version (big surprise!)… IGN was at the event and mentioned in their latest podcast that the PS3 will NOT be getting the regular version of Tekken 6, which was released late 2007 in arcades. More news as we get it!

Game Informer: Assassin's Creed II

Well, what do you know. After the cliffhanger ending of the first game, Assassin’s Creed is back for more. “A New Hero for a New Time,” eh? What could that possibly mean? Just judging from the cover art, this isn’t the same Altair that we’re used to. At the very least, he’s picked up some spiffy new threads, right? Nope. In Assassin’s Creed 2, players take on the role of Ezio, a young noble whose family was lost through rival ruling families' betrayals. In addition to the new character, players are going to get to explore a new setting: Renaissance-era Venice. What else is going on? Well, you’re going to have to pick up the May issue of Game Informer if you want the complete story on Ubisoft’s latest. You’ll also get new information on Sony’s MAG, which promises 256-player multiplayer action, as well as an exclusive in-depth look at Nintendo’s upcoming Punch-Out!! update.

Ecstasy pills found in X-Box game

Four ecstasy pills have been found inside a computer game bought at a High Street store.

Richard Thornhill, 34, found the drugs under the front cover of X-Box game Grand Theft Auto IV, which he bought from Gamestation in Cheltenham.

Mr Thornhill said: "What made me feel the most distraught was the fact we let our 12-year-old play the game."

A spokesman for Gamestation said the company has launched an investigation and was assisting a police inquiry.

But the Thornhills claim Gamestation's initial response was to tell them to "flush the drugs down the toilet".

Mr Thornhill said he bought a second hand, or pre-owned, copy of the 18-certificate game before making the discovery last Sunday.

'Felt sick'

He said: "I was going to put it away and I felt a lump on the front cover.

"Inside the instruction booklet was a ball of Shrinkwrap, or Clingfilm. I thought it was just a ball of clingfilm, but then I realised there were tablets inside. I instantly felt sick.

"They had Mitsubishi signs on them, which I recalled meant they were ecstasy pills. I wasn't 100% sure though, so I checked online and sure enough I was right - it was ecstasy."

His wife, Lesley, contacted Gamestation's area manager whom she claimed invited her to hand the drugs over to the company so they could destroy them.

But the couple contacted Gloucestershire Police and officers collected the pills.

A Gamestation spokesman said: "We have rigorous procedures for accepting pre-owned titles and checking them before they are put back on sale.

"We have launched an investigation and will work closely with Cheltenham police to find out what happened."
